Improved Landing Gear

As you look at Stardusters you'll quickly learn that the original design had a problem with the landing gear.  Recent modifications have moved the gear forward so that its located 8" rather than the original 1 1/2" from the firewall reference line.

They also had a problem with lateral loads.  Any side pressure and the gear would collapse.

45GG has had the landing gear modified in a couple of different ways.  First the gear was relocated to the 8" position and then the gear was beefed up in two ways.  One, a steel rod was spot welded into the down tubes of the gear and Two, an extra crossmember was welded between the two downtubes giving the landing gear a lot more lateral strength.

Here is a look at these modifications on 45GG.
